Mac OS X Printers & Scanners Panel Showing a Riso RP Printer

There are no Riso-supported Mac OS X drivers for the RP Series, yet it is possible to print directly to an RP machine from Mac OS X, without complex tinkering –if any at all– or extra files. All one needs to do is install Riso drivers from a different series that do have OS X support, then connect your RP to your Mac via Ethernet or USB and create/add your printer in the exact same way you'd add any supported printer under Mac OS X.

Riso Drum Color Stickers

If you're like me, you've got some drums that have been changed to different colors and the labels have gotten ripped-off, hand-drawn and sloppy. What's an OCD Risographer to do when the original stickers are nigh impossible to find?

You print this template for $1.50 USD at FedEx Office (or on your own printer) and cut them yourself!  Download the template here (.zip)

This tutorial applies to MZ/EZ/RZ drums. The purpose of this tutorial is to clean and prep a drum to change the color. This tutorial simply shows taking apart and cleaning the drum for new ink. Cleaning the drum instead of trying to flush out the old color with new ink will save you a lot of ink and paper.

Please note: I am not a certified Riso tech. This method has worked for me through trial and error and reading through the technical manuals. Find a clean work space and lay down some kraft/butcher paper because it will be messy!
