THE RISO ROOM & MU School of Visual Studies

The Riso Room at the MU School of Visual Studies is a student-run public-facing print lab/studio @therisoroom (est. 2020) and is outfitted with RISO MF9450 with Purple, Orchid, Fluorescent Pink, Scarlet, Fluorescent Orange, Sunflower, Light Lime, Ivy, Light Teal, Sky Blue, Lake, Black and White inks. This facility supports the BFA and MFA programs within the SVS.  The riso room was founded by MU facutly member Travis Shaffer whose on-campus studio houses 'theretherenow.' a research-based risograph imprint (est. 2016) with 2x MZ790U printers and 20 additional color drums.   Both studios support programming for the university and the public in 2021 including workshops, live and virtual events (workshops, artist talks, exhibitions), a summer institute and a publishing residency.
